Hi! My name is Rachel Strong and I am a Masters of Library and Information Science student at IUPUI. I have created this blog as a requirement for my Reader's Advisory course this semester and look forward to interacting with you all.
A little bit about me - I graduated from Hanover College with a BA in Business Administration and worked first in market research and then transitioned into nonprofit work. I have a passion for lifelong learning and community development which led me to pursue a second-half career as a public librarian. I am married with a daughter who wants to be an author and a spoiled Westie. My hobbies include traveling, reading, and running.

Hi, Rachel. We read a lot of the same books growing up! I wish I would have kept all of my Nancy Drew books; I'm now re-collecting all of them. I also enjoy reading about chefs--I was on a big Julia Child kick for a while and like Ruth Reichl, too.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate the Rory Gilmore reference. I loved that show!
I still have a large chunk of my Baby-Sitters Club that we recently pulled out for my daughter and have started trying to fill in the gaps. She's a little younger than I was when I started reading them but she's only made it through one so far, so we'll see.
DeleteI've read a couple Ruth Reichl books and loved them. Grant Achatz's "Life, on the Line" is a great one if you haven't read it. His story is amazing!
I have watched the entire Gilmore Girls series probably at least 5 times start to finish. It's one of my all time favorite shows. I will say though that I watched the reboot from a few years ago once, and started through it a second time last year and couldn't do it. I was so excited for them to do more episodes and then ended up wishing they hadn't.
Looking forward to being in class with you!
Rachel- I love the name of your blog! I just saw an article on Book Riot that the new Nancy Drew comic celebrated her birthday by killing her off!
